Question 1

Doesn't Microsoft already back up Microsoft 365?

Accepted Answer

Microsoft keeps the service running, but it isn't a full backup of your data — deleted items are only kept for a limited time. A separate Microsoft 365 backup lets you restore emails and files from much further back.

Question 2

How often should we back up?

Accepted Answer

For most businesses, automatic daily backups are the right starting point, with more frequent backups for critical systems. We'll recommend a schedule based on how much data you could afford to lose.

Question 3

Would backups protect us from ransomware?

Accepted Answer

Backups kept separate from your main systems are one of the best defences — if files are encrypted, you can restore clean copies instead of paying a ransom. We combine backups with security measures to reduce the risk in the first place.

Question 4

How quickly could we recover?

Accepted Answer

It depends on what's affected, which is why we plan it in advance. Individual files can usually be restored quickly; we'll agree recovery priorities for whole systems with you.
